Basics
Luminous Flux
Total light released by the light source in a second.
Unit: Lumen (lm)
Ill uminance
Total incident light
arrives on a certain area. That's the value of light beam
divided by the area. It's used to describe how light it is in a
certain place.
Unit: Lux (Lm/m2)
Luminous Intensity
It defines the intensity of the light. Also known as the
total light released in a certain direction.
Unit: Candela (cd)
Luminance
This is the intensity of reflected light from an object in a
certain direction, also known as the light intensity in a
certain direction on a unit area.
Unit: nt (cd/m2) Stibe (cd/m2)
Economics
This is the total light generated by 1w of electric power.
Higher the value, more efficient the light source will be.
Unit: lm/w
