< Power saving >
In August 2006, the International Conference for Renewable
Energy Sources held in Florence , Italy came to a conclusion
that the renewable energy can only contribute to 20% of CO2
release reduction by 2030. However, energy saving can contribute
up to 50% of the reduction. Therefore, saving power or use the
power more efficiently should be the most important strategy in
the future. Illumination is very energy-consumptive, especially
in a developing country like the mainland. You can't imagine how
badly it harms our environment if you simply turn on all the
lamps on the earth. Therefore, power-saving illumination becomes
an important new technology. In the near future, today's lamps
will be replaced by LED (solid illumination), which is free of
mercury pollution.
< Green Illumination >
Today, in major industrial countries, illumination consumes
10% to 20% of total electricity consumption. In some places,
this ratio can be as high as 25%. This is a large proportion. If
we can control the power consumption of illumination, a lot of
energy can be saved. Our environment is impacted by the increase
of electricity consumption. As a matter of fact, the Green
Illumination project is a measure covering energy saving and
environment protection. It effectively increases the efficiency
of power usage, and save a lot of electric power. The Green
Illumination Project is firstly proposed by the U.S. Environment
Protection Agency. It encourages the users to install more
efficient and energy saving illumination products, in order to
reduce commercial, industrial, and public electricity
requirement. According to the related statistics, 25 billion
dollars will be saved if efficient and energy-saving
illumination is adopted in our country. Furthermore, air
pollution will be reduced by 5%.
LED solid illumination, with the properties of energy saving
and extended longevity, can be used to reduce energy consumption
and lower the CO2 release in answer to Kyoto Protocol. It opens
a new century of green illumination.

| Lustrous Technology LTD has present its first 10W LED product, Lustron X. With its unique COB packaging design and material selection, Lustrous X can achieve over 1000 lumen in a single package. Typical production luminous efficacy for white is 75 lm/W @ If =350mA. The laboratory result is 100 lm/W. Warm White Series will be available in spring 2008.
